The A9L40500 is a surge arrester from Schneider Electric's iQuick PRD range. It is designed to protect electrical installations against transient overvoltages. These overvoltages are often caused by lightning strikes or switching operations. This surge protective device (SPD) is a Type 2 arrester. Type 2 SPDs are installed in distribution boards to protect sensitive equipment. The A9L40500 provides protection in common mode (between phase/neutral and earth). It has a maximum discharge current (Imax) of 40kA. The device features a visual fault indicator for easy monitoring of its operational status.
